Aerobars?

I have been thinking about doing some time trial races, but don't have aerobars. I was looking in to the two different types: attach to my handle bars or the whole new bars. I don't know how hard they are to take on and off (because I only have the one bike) or is it better to get the attached kind? Any suggestions?

Bub,

If your going to use just one bike, the clip-on bars are the only way to go. Changing bars to a full aerobar set up is not an easy task.

With clip-on's it's still a bit of a pain, but not too bad. I used the clip-ons last year for a couple of TT's and they worked well. However, to get into a good position, I used a second seatpost & seat (you need to put the seat WAY forward and I used an easton offset post backwards)> I also used a shorter stem with more drop. My long stem put me too high.

Good luck.
